CHILDREN OF THE ROYAL PUPPETEER

Mission:   To become an outreach ministry to the community. The Children of the Royal Puppeteer Ministry is a teaching tool to minister bible principles to the young at heart. God birthed this ministry out of an outreach ministry called “Children of the Promise.” This ministry works with the Drama Ministry and the Youth Church (Age 10 years old and up)

DRAMA MINISTRY

Mission:  To help present the Word through dramatic works and plays; the same way parables were used throughout the Bible. The Drama Ministry uses creative arts to minister to the body of Christ.  It also serves as another arm of the Church to reach out into the community to those who may never come to Church but may come to a play.

NEW MEMBERS CLASS

Mission:  To enhance the overall spiritual needs of those in attendance at Royal and those who seek to join. The New Members Class consists of eight classes which consist of topics on: Prayer, Baptism, Lord’s Supper, Bible, Church, Giving in the New Testament, Holy Spirit, and God’s Differing Gifts. These classes express the essential needs for every Christian’s spiritual growth.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Mission:  To provide concentrated study and learning which introduces God’s Word and His wonderful Son, Jesus Christ, to both children and adults. People of all ages learn to know and love Jesus in a richer and deeper way.  The end result is a challenge to follow, love and serve the Lord who teaches us how to live. Vacation Bible School makes learning fun. There are exciting bible lessons to learn, creative crafts, and lively singing to help them learn the Word of God.

YOUTH CHURCH

Mission:  To allow children to participate in the worship experience at their age level. The program is structured to teach young children about God, His Word and salvation. It is designed to reach non-believing students, help them learn to honor God, connect with other Christians, grow in their faith and offer themselves in worship service to Christ. It also teaches them how to conduct themselves in service. A variety of teaching methods such as stories, skits, and crafts are used to reinforce each lesson.  Lessons are taught according to the age levels.

CHILDREN’S NURSERY

Mission: To provide a wholesome environment for children during Sunday services so that the parents/guardians can comfortably enjoy the Worship Service.  Parental volunteers and others serve on a rotating basis on Sundays so that everyone will be able to worship within the service periodically. The nursery serves infants to three years old.

HEALTH & WELLNESS MINISTRY

Mission:  To educate the congregation and community, while attending to their health care needs. Our medical skills are used to maximize good patient outcomes in emergency situations. Our annual programs consist of:  Monthly Health Focus Education, Monthly Children’s Church Health Segment, and a nurse on duty at Sunday services weekly.

PULPIT AIDE

Mission:  To support the Shepard through a variety of activities and services which accommodate his office and pulpit. The Pulpit Aide Ministry provides support to the Pastor in the form of pulpit refreshments, flowers, robes, bibles, or whatever tools are necessary for him to enhance his pastoral ship.

USHER’S MINISTRY

Mission: To serve as a ministry responsible for greeting members, Visitors, and friends, directing them to comfortable seats prior to and during worship services, and funerals, give guidance and instructions to those entering the sanctuary and cheerfully distributes bulletins.

YOUTH DEPARTMENT

Mission:   To coordinate all youth activities that are youth oriented. Our youth participate during fourth Sunday 11:15 AM  Worship Service. The staff is there to offer support and counseling. This group is engaged in various activities such as Bible Quiz, the Dunbar-Gandy Retreat, Oratorical Contest Competitions, collecting toiletries and other necessities for the homeless; and building and repairing homes for families in need under the “Habitat for Humanity” program.

Married Couples Ministry

Mission:   To help promote Christian growth of married couples and enhance relationships. Events such as financial planning, married couples Bible Study, and fellowshipping with other married Christian couples are offered. The planning committee of our ministry works diligently to plan activities on an on-going basis. Throughout the year, events that focus on parenting, quality time, communication, stress management, finances, and enhancing your relationship are offered to all couples.

SAFETY NET MINISTRY

CLOTHES CLOSET

Mission:   To provide clothing needs of the community at-large as well as the faith community. The Clothes Closet give away free clothing donated by members of the Royal Missionary Baptist Church. Tax credit available for donations. New or gently used clothes may be dropped off at Building #2.

FOOD BANK

Mission:   To provide food to those in need. The Food Bank Ministry functions under the guidelines of the Low Country Food Bank benefiting the needy, those who are ill, emergency situations, individuals with low/fixed incomes and those with no other source of income. Needy families from the church and the community benefit from this service. The distributors are a group of volunteers who shop and/or distribute the food. 
Objectives: To build consensus regarding the need for Community Based Actions and Solutions when considering solving the problem of hunger in our community. To build community among the Food Bank and its partners in the fight to end hunger. To provide a tangible plan that will eliminate the potential for physical hunger in our community within a specific period of time.

PRISON MINISTRY

 

Mission: The mission involves, but is not exclusive to teaching, preaching, visitation, and correspondence to adults and juveniles who are incarcerated in the local penal institutions. The Prison Ministry is another branch of outreach in our effort to fulfill the Great Commission. The heart of the ministry team follows the Lord’s command which; “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matt. 4:19)

SENIOR MISSIONARY

Mission:  This ministry seeks to provide a means of fulfilling Christ’s command to “Go ye into all the world” with the Gospel. The Senior Missionary Ministry purpose is to aide and minister to the needs of the sick and less fortunate, enlistment, and stewardship. They feed the homeless, visit the sick, make nursing home visits, and reach out to others by witnessing in the neighborhood.  They’re responsible for the church-wide, “Women’s Day Program,” which is held the second Sunday in September of each year. The Senior Missionary Ministry is affiliated with the Charleston County Baptist Association and the State Woman’s Baptist Educational and Missionary Convention.

YOUNG WOMAN’S AUXILIARY (YWA)

Mission:  To be faithful in its aid and service to mankind. The Young Woman’s Auxiliary (YWA) was organized in 1982. They conduct home and hospital visits, sponsors two Prayer Breakfast a year, sponsors an Annual Women’s Retreat, and the Angel Tree of Gift Giving to children in need at Christmas time. The YWA is affiliated with the Charleston County Baptist Association. The YWA, along with the Senior Missionary, participates at the fifth Sunday worship service by ushering and giving a quarterly report.

VAN & BUS/PARKING

Mission:  To provide transportation to persons who may need assistance getting to church. It also serves as a ministry that directs traffic flow during worship services and special events. This ministry provides a pick up and return service to members who have no transportation to Sunday morning worship service.  It also provides transportation for choir members and church members to different area churches accompanying the pastor.  This service is also used to provide transportation for members to conferences, retreats, and other church functions.

MUSIC MINISTRIES

The Music Ministry serves as a ministry to provide music that sets the tone and atmosphere for worship and helps to usher in the Holy Spirit. The overall purpose of the Music Ministry is to encourage the believer and appeal to the unbeliever.

The Male Choir loves to spread the joy and spirit of the Lord through songs. This choir sings on the 3rd Sunday in each month at the 11:15 AM Worship Service.

SANCTUARY CHOIR

The Sanctuary Choir holds a special place in the hearts of the Royal Missionary Baptist Church family. Through the vision of Pastor Holt, this choir was born out of the combined oldest choirs of the church, the Senior Choir and Choir #2.   The choir sings on the 1st and 2nd Sunday of the month during the 11:00 AM Worship Service.

The Sunbeam Choir is a training experience for worshipping the Lord in songs, scripture, prayer and praise.  Prov. 22:6 states, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart.” The choir sings on the 4th Sunday of each month during the 11:00 AM Worship Service.

PRAISE and WORSHIP

The Praise & Worship ministries exist to minister to the Lord through praise and worship and to facilitate and create an atmosphere where the presence of the Lord can dwell.

Signs Of Worship – Deaf Ministry
The Signs of Worship Ministry teaches sign language and conduct sign language interpretation during Worship Services. This ministry ministers to God’s people through the alternative language of sign as led by the Holy Spirit at church programs and special services.

INTERCESSORY PRAYER

Intercessory prayer is prayer for others.  An intercessor is one who takes the place of another or pleads another’s case. Intercession is “holy”, believing, persevering prayer whereby someone pleads with God on behalf of another.  Jesus was an intercessor.  He prayed for those who were sick. He prayed for his disciples.

PRAISE DANCE MINISTRY

The Praise Dance Ministry is equipped to train and mentor believers in the area of the liturgical dance ministry.  They bring believers into the fullness of Christ and non-believers into the power of His ministry of dance.  This ministry brings all to a place of true salvation, deliverance, healing, maturity, and wholeness so all may be drawn out of darkness into his marvelous light. John 17:20-23.  They minister at various churches, special programs, and sometimes on the 4th Sunday.

Royal Gazette Newsletter
Mission: To glorify God by sharing the fruit of His blessings. Each issue of the Royal Gazette Newsletter will be motivated by an overflow of love for God.  Through the Holy Spirit’s guidance and our faith it will breathe as an extended means of worship and praise; powerfully connecting the flock to walk in harmony with the Word in testimony, vision, hope, and charity.
